No need to worry, all the creativity and variety is still at Under The Moon but the menu is now fixed.
Speaking with Santi, it was becoming an impossible job creating an entirely new menu every night. It was time for a change. So what does he and the team at UTM do, they create a HUGE menu that keeps all of the creative dishes they are known for and last night UTM still had specials.
Want Mama's Pork, Eggplant Parm, Santi's Crab Cakes, Milanesa Napolitana, Grilled Skirt Steak etc etc, its still all there and many more choices of apps, pasta and entrees.
Last night, after shoveling for 3 hours, we headed to UTM and enjoyed another great meal.
Started with a special soup of sweet potato, leeks and added bourbon. Simply delicious on a cold dreary night and the bowl was big enough for two. Soups here are a fabulous way to start. Some of the best I've had anywhere.
Complimentary salads are tasty and nicely dressed.
Entrees were rare tuna over wasabi mashed potatoes with ponzu sauce, a favorite of mine and now a menu staple.
DW had a special of coconut crusted salmon with a tropical salsa over jasmine rice which was a tasty and creative preparation of salmon.
A 2006 Holdredge Pinot was perfect with everything.
It was literally torture to pass up dessert as Santi had just taken from the oven his famous lemon meringue pie but its that time of the year. Oh well, only 5 weeks to go :). Besides the LMP, all of the usual desserts such as banana cream pie, peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake, caramel flan with walnuts etc are there, I could go on forever.
