Well, I keep insisting to my non-chowish boss that he needs to try Korean BBQ (chosun galbee), and he only agreed to go if we go also to HIS favorite first-- Mongolian BBQ.
Perhaps the proliferation in shopping malls across america has turned me off to the idea. But the core reason that I have an aversion to Mongolian BBQ is that the last time I had it was about 5 years ago in phoenix. They used a really cheap meat and the meal was truly sub-par and I felt a little ill afterwards. So I've had this aversion to it ever since.
But for my boss, I'm willing to give it another shot. Where oh where can one find authentic, chowish mongolian BBQ in LA? We are at Wilshire and San Vicente. My boss prefers style over substance, unfortunately, so he would never eat at a place like soot bull jeep, which is why chosun galbee is the perfect fit for us.
For my own edification, however, I would like to know your opinions on top mongolian BBQ in LA, grungy or not, for me to explore when my fickle boss is not in tow.
To summarize, I'm looking for:
a) mongolian bbq in Wilshire/San Vicente area to take my boss to (we can be flexible on location a bit)
b) mongolian bbq anywhere in LA, as long as the chow is tops
