We have some visitors coming (from South Korea) who want "California cuisine"
As they were very nice to my daughter on a recent trip to Korea, I want to treat them very nicely - so I was thinking of the following places - this will be a group of 7:
1. Boulevard (will they be open this Monday - holiday?)
3. Not one of the super "high end" places like Danko, Dining Room, Fleur de Lys, etc.
Whatever it is, the food should be very good to excellent, atmosphere should be reasonable quiet (so that rules out Aqua, Perbacco, Town Hall, in my opinion), and should feel somewhat expensive (e.g. I want them to know we're treating them to a nice place.
Three of the diners will be teenagers but all are well versed in eating at "nice" places, so not a constraint at all.
As they are staying near Union Square, any walking distance (up to about a mile through reasonable neighborhoods) would be a plus.
