Mom's BBQ in Van Nuy's has Cajun boudin...just not right now

Mom's has decent BBQ and for the SFV thats as good as it gets. I like their beef ribs more than the pork and I order em both dry with hot sauce on the side.

Waiting in line today. This place is slow. Always call ahead. I looked at the menu on the wall and noticed for the first time BOUDIN!

Now if you don't know Cajun boudin is a sorta sausage stuffed with rice, spices, green onion and some kind of meat usually pork but sometimes crawfish, shrimp, whatever. Traditionally boudin is pork tasting much like pate.

Their all delicious and the real odd thing is how you eat boudin. The links are steamed and you kinda bite and suck the filling out of the casing. Once you try one you're hooked.

So Mom's has boudin on the menu, but don't always make em. Like everyone who makes their own boudin they're real proud em. "Try back next week," they told me. I will.
