Mission Impossible - Group Dinner near Carnegie Hall - HELP!

Hi all-

I've been tasked with what I believe to be the hardest thing I've ever had to do - find a place to have a graduation dinner with my family, group of 12, around 8 PM tonight (yes, they're great planners).

Looking for someplace moderately expensive (ruling out the high end of the nearby midtown steakhouses), that would fit 12 at the last minute, would be somewhat kid-friendly, and special enough for a graduation (ruling out the Brooklyn Diner).

Preferably looking for either American or Italian fare.

I've done the OpenTable lookup, and the odds are not in my favor. I thought of reserving Josephina, which would be a bit of a walk, but I figured I'd post here to see if anyone can please help!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and rewarded with karma points (offer not valid in AK or HI).

Thanks,
GC
