Hey there Metro Detroit Hounds!
With all of the coverage of the economy and the impact to Metro Detroit, I thought it would be great to share info about restaurants that are trying to help (and stay in business) with discounts, specials, etc. Everything counts – a good deal is a good deal!
Here are a few that I have seen/read about lately – let's keep the list going!
Assaggi Mediterranean Bistro, 330 W. Nine Mile in Ferndale, - offering several of the dishes on their menu in two portion sizes, so those who wish may have a smaller portion at a smaller price, but without sacrificing quality. The dishes include gnocchi with wild mushrooms, veal reduction and truffle oil at $12 or $21, rainbow trout $16 or $24, duck $14 or $26 and lobster ravioli $14 or $24. Even the Caesar salad comes in $7 or $14 portions.
Big Rock , Birmingham - The restaurant in the revamped train station also is offering special three-course lunches at $15, and three-course dinners, with a glass of wine, at $40.
Bacco Ristorante in Southfield, has dropped its menu prices by as much as half for some dishes, while reducing portions to amounts more in keeping with traditional Italian dining.
Via Nove – 4 course prix fix “date night” on Friday - $50 for two; higher end menu on Saturday (includes Lobster!) and wine $89/couple
Wolfgang Puck – 3 course prix fix meal Sunday – Thursday $35/$55 with wine
