Merry Maraschino Cherries

Melanie Wong | Dec 19, 2013 01:01 PM

In case anyone else is looking for non-dyed maraschino cherries for holiday baking, I found Tillen Farms Merry Maraschino Cherries at Shelton's in Healdsburg. They're pitted, whole, and have long stems. Texture is a little soft and they're not that sweet. Without red dye #40, the color is a bit light but darkens after baking. Here's what the quartered cherries looked like on my butter cookies.

The cherries are grown in the Pacific Northwest.
