Hi I have a silly request--I do about a monthly movie and food night and theme my dinner around the movie we are viewing. In the queue are Citizen Kane and Vertigo.
For Citizen Kane I was hoping to find something Old-Hollywood Style. Of course many believe that the story was based off William Randolph Hearst. I have not had much luck googling menus that might have been enjoyed by Hearst and friends in the 20's and 30's. If any of you are familiar with the area, or have time-period suggestions or restaurant/memorabilia links I am all open to inspiration. I am at a dead end.
Secondly, Vertigo recreated the "Ernie's" restaurant from the 50's. I understand it's been closed for several years now but that it was quite the establishment for the time (rumored that Hitchcock loved dining there). I thought I'd have much better luck finding a menu from them but no again. So if anyone know anything about Ernie's so I can take some inspiration from that...most loved dishes, etc. Thanks
