I had Friday off, so I marched down Haight to the one BBQ place of reputed quality in the city that I had yet to visit. I ordered a combo of the St Louis Pork Ribs and the Texas Beef Brisket.
Allow me to state unequivocally that Memphis Minnies has the best BBQ beef brisket that Ive yet found in the Bay Area. They served their brisket sliced thin. The outside of the meat has a nice crust, while the inside was tender and tastyno dryness of lesser brisket fare. Its served sauceless, but you have three rather large bottles of sauce to choose from on your tablea yellow sauce (mustard based), a brown vinegar one and a red sauce. I chose to dab a bit of the red on the side. It encouraged me to tear through it really quickly.
The ribs were pretty good too, but the brisket was the real star.
