Last evening a dear friend and I went to Meat Market. I chose it on the basis of a Chowhound Rec. I was skeptical as I thought it would be too much scene and not enough substance as many of the places on Lincoln Road are. Well, happily, we got the scene, the vibe, and some fabulous eats.
It was a beautiful evening, so we elected to eat outside on Lincoln Road. We started with some very inventive cocktails. I had a cucumber mojito with strawberries and basil. I normally don't like overly sweet drinks, but the basil truly offset the strawberries beautifully. She had a chevre infused martini with peppercorns and blue cheese stuffed olives. She loved it. There were some great snacks with our drinks- spicy chickpeas, wasabi peas, a crunchy corn and nuts.
We both had the tuna tartare appetizer that was truly fabulous. The tuna came with mango salsa and guacamole. My friend had the half filet and lobster tail surf and turf as her main. The sauce she ordered on the side was a peppercorn, cabernet reduction. She thought it was perfection. I had the fried crab tail appetizer has my main. It came with a oriental slaw and it was unbelievable. I also order the kobe beef sliders, which were amazing, but I was so full, I could only have a bite. We also ordered a side of parmesan crusted yellow tomatoes. They were great and very tender. The bill with tip and tax was $185.00. We loved it and will definitely go back. Thank you Chowhound!
