Ate my first meal of the year at 2am from a pushcart vendor in front of club Avalon in Hollywood: a bacon wrapped hot dog. Stopped at 5am at the original Tommy's for a chili cheeseburger. In the context post--party drunk food, these things take on a beauty all their own. Sadly, I was stone sober so my experience was different (though still tasty) from the people I was driving.
I am a champion of holes-in-walls and low-end food. But all the same, I wanted a better grade of dead animal for New Year's. We went to dinner later at Tsuruhashi in Fountain Valley for some prime grade beef cooked at the table. Now that's some tasy food!
