After reading rave reviews about this place, I traveled out of my way to eat there with a few out of town friends a few weeks ago. We all got the Chef's choice dinners (omakaze). We decided to go for the $35 level. In the end, we only got about 4.5 courses. It seems that other diners who have written about their experience have gotten at least 7 courses for their money. By the way, the first course, the octopus salad, was probably just a little bigger than a dollar coin if you want to count that as a "course".

We didn't sit at the sushi bar so we didn't chit chat with the chef. I shudder to think one has to do that in order to get more courses out of the omakaze. I guess that is the risk one takes when letting the chef do the choosing.

While I have to say the quality of the fish is excellent, I expected a lot more for $35. I don't think I will be back with anyone ordering the omakaze.
