There's a new tiny little (12 seats) Moroccan place that just opened (Saturday) on the west side of Hicks between Union and President. It's an odd location, but will be a welcome addition to the neighborhood if they can make a go of it.

I stopped in Sunday night and had delicious mint tea, a very minty beet salad and a lamb/lemon/olive tajine that wasn't as lemony as it should have been, although the lamb was quite yummy and beautifully tender. I'm definitely reserving judgment on the food (convenient neighborhood stop or worth the trip) as they didn't even have menus ready yet when I was there. It looks like they'll be serving a few tajines and a few fish dishes, as well as a range of appetizerish salads.

But if you're in the hood, it's worth investigating -- the woman who owns it and the waitress are both lovely and warm, and there's certainly nothing quite like it in the immediate area.
