I just came back from a business lunch at One Market. It wasn't my choice, but I still expected better than what landing on the plate in front of me.
I ordered from the DAT menu, selecting fennel soup and skate wing, to be followed by a bosc pear turnover.
The soup had nothing more than the merest hint of fennel and tasted primarily of oil.
The skate wing was overcooked and drowned in an oily mustard-seed sauce that was vaguely nauseous from the grease and completely obscured the delicate flavor of the fish.
The dessert was the only almost redeeming feature, the turnover crust being low on flavor but crisped nicely and filled with a decent pear filling and accompanied by an interterminate ice cream with a weak whiskey sauce.
