Stopped in Madina's Market Kitchen for a bite to eat yesterday. Had the lamb kurma with plain naan and a mango lassi.

The kurma was small sized chunks of lamb (bone-in) in a creamy tomato based sauce. A few raisins mixed it gave it a nice sweet taste. It came with a generous portion of basmati rice. I dumped the kurma over the rice and mixed it all in together. The sauce was nice and rice but I was turned off by the amount of bones and lack of meat. It was pretty bad. Had they put quality lamb chunks in it it'd have been MUCH better.

The naan was heavenly. It was light, fluffy and perfect for sopping up the kurma sauce. I prefer flavored naan but I figured it didn't matter much since I was going to use it to absorb the sauce.

The mango lassi was fairly good. A large size lassi that was frothy and sweet. It was refreshing.

Service could have been better. I had to wait a long time for the guy to come out of the back room and take my order (he knew I was there). Then I had to wait until the cooks finished their lunch before they prepared my food. I was not impressed.

I found it odd that that the menu was just a giant chalkboard laying on the floor without any descriptions. Maybe this place is mostly frequented by regulars who know what they want. Fortunately I'm familiar with Indian and Pakistani food so it wasn't a problem.
