Macrobiotic/Organic Cafe News?

Hi All,

Knowing the thoroughness of this board, I imagine this topic may have come up, but I must have missed it. I'm wondering what is the fate of the Macrobiotic/Organic Cafe on 40th St. in Oakland. It's closed, but I wonder if it's closed forever? That place has been around for a 1/4 of a century, and I loved having it near my house. I've been missing it.

Here's little scuttlebutt on the former Bonsai, the japanese place next to Sahn Maru on Telegraph. It closed about a month ago. I ran into the sushi chef from Bonsai last week, and he told me the people who own Koryo are opening a new Japanese restaurant there. The new sign's up, but I can't remember the name. Anyway, I'll try it when it opens, and report back.

As my info indicates, I live near MacArthur Bart, and could have basically lived on a rotating schedule of the Organic Cafe, Sahn Maru, Bonsai, and Cafe Eritrea D'Afrique (best veggic combo in the area, as far as I'm concerned).

Cheers,
Amy
