Lunches here and there

Best lunch last week was bought sitting in a doctor's office from a guy selling Belle Baguette European Gourmet Sandwiches, 9635 SM Blvd. Beverly Hills, 90210, 310-274-8765 email, www.Bellebaguette@aol.com.
Nineteen varieties - I bought Sandwich de Voilaille bombay, smoked breast of turkey, provolone cheese, tomatoes, mixed lettuce (not shredded) and chutney on a huge incredibly fresh baguette. Sandwich so large that I took it home and shared it with my SO and my son. A real baguette, just excellent.

Second best lunch was Lee's Tofu house in the Tozai Plaza in Gardena, 15484 S.Western at Redondo Beach Blvd. (#110) - 310-527-4332. I had the Tofu bowl with shrimp and mushroom and while I was waiting, I went next door for a 15 minute Shiastu ($10) - now I could eat without a stiff neck.

Third lunch at Yang Chow down town in Chinatown - used to be one of my student hangouts in the 18th century when I went to school because I love Hunan cuisine. We had won ton soup (Zoe's offspring's favorite) very so so but great eggplant with shredded pork and twice fried pork with cabbage - the odd thing was we arrived about 3.45 pm and there was one couple there - by 4.10 the place was full - now was it late lunch or early dinner. The slippery shrimp seemed to be a big seller.
