Lunch at Gallodoro

Jerome | Oct 31, 2003 07:52 PM

Went to lunch at Gallodoro today on Fairfax.

For the price, a good buy, especially at dinner. 1/4 roast rotisserie Italian-style chicken, 7.95. 1/2 chicken 8.95 Comes with a kick ass spicy and vinegary tomato sauce for the chicken (cold - chicken is hot) spinach and potatoes. I had the tortelloni, homemade, (homemade pappardelle, all the paste ripiene (?) were homemade) pumpkin, ricotta, chicken maybe - excellent at 11.50. They have very reasonable panini and roll-ups but the panini are on a lame french bread rather than a foccaccia. The dessert was great- crostate di mele - an apple tart - but the apples had been soaked in a liqueur I think before baking so they were quite good.
Meal for three with two drinks before tip was $39.
The chicken was excellent. And the pricier pasta dishes looked great - lobster stuffed ravioli with shrimp in the sauce, etc. Good for dinner I'd say, better than lunch possibly but didn't inquire about the existence of a separate dinner menu.
On Fairfax just north of Wilshire.
