Lunch at Echigo

Now that I have been to Nozawa, Sasabune and Hide I consider myself somewhat able to appreciate high quality extremely fresh fish from good or average fish. I have also tried Ankimo (Monkfish Liver) at each place. Today I tried the $10.00 lunch special at Echigo on Santa Monica Blvd. near Bundy across from the Smart & Final store. The sushi is Nigiri style with warm rice and room temperature fish. We were treated to Tuna, Yellowtail, Halibut, Mackerel, Salmon, and Crab Hand Roll. Everything including the rice was as good as I had experienced at Sasabune and Nozawa and worlds better than Hide. I added the Ankimo also. It was the best I have ever had. It was just pure, smooth and perfect. This is the best deal in town for Sushi by far. Maybe Monday is the day for ultra-fresh fish. I am going to be a regular.
