Just returned from a delicious lunch at Bizou. It was my first time there and I was not disappointed. My friend brought a lovely Pinot Noir from K &L so there was no corkage. We started with the grilled monterey squid with olives, arugula and salsa verde. When the waiter placed it on the table it smelled heavenly. It tasted even better - very fresh and light. We also had the butter lettuce salad with a nicoise olive dressing -pleasant but nothing special though. The corn and roasted chili pizza with ricotta salata and bacon was perfect. The flavor of all the elements came through and worked beautifully together on a nice crisp crust.
Although we were full we finished with the bittersweet chocolate and coffee vacherin. The crispy sugared almonds and crème anglaise took it over the top It was fabulous! The service was perfect. The bill was around $39.
Im trying to figure out why I didnt go sooner. I will certainly return soon.
