Had a fantastic multi course lunch on Friday at a fabulous new place in OC! Outside the signage/restaurant is stilled called Lugano, but they are actually called Turner's New Zealand... I think they are keeping the old name for some liquor license permit issues, soon to be changed. Either way, the food was fantastic.
Turners is actually a purveyor of food, with a focus/speciatly on items from New Zealand. Therefore, they have great lamb, venison, salmon and mussels... all grown completely organically and hormone/steroid free... and you can tell in the flavor, taste and texture.
We had several dishes... King Salmon tartare, cured King Salmon, NZ green lipped mussels (truly wonderful, and as fresh as I've ever had), a mixed grill with lamb and venison - wow, King Salmon ravioli in wonton skins (awesome - Mrs. Woo!'s favorite dish - and she is normally not a salmon person!), salad w/marinated warm venison, a really great filet (again grown and flown from NZ)... There were other dishes also, but I didn't take notes, but rest assured they were great.
The chef, Louie Moya was very accomodating and helpful, the front of the house is managed by his wife Christy, and they do a great job. It is so great when everyone is so helpful, and nothing is ever a problem, special requests were taken and delivered with a terrific attitude, and the staff was VERY accomodating. We had dinner items at lunch and if I recall, entrees were in the $15 - $25 range, with one or two items higher or lower... don't quote me, but I think that's right.
Overall, a great food spot. Highly recommended. Quality of the ingredients were more than top notch, service was great, and preparations were highly imaginative and well executed.
