Took the certified beer judge/homebrewer/beer style expert finacee there on Friday night.
We had alredy had a yummy dinner at home, so we didn't eat. I have to say, though, the menu looked pretty good, although a guy at the table next to us said the fries weren't all that special. THey had some salads and burgers and such that looked darn yummy and juicy. The miilkshakes were going all over, and the drinkers seemed happy.
I had called ahead to find out about parking, and spoke to the manager/host, Brian, who was really nice, and eager to cultivate a beer crowd. The selection on tap wasn't huge, but it was very diverse and very good. Ruination on tap? Avery on tap? they had some good local brews, and some great belgians, and I Brian told me they were building a stock of good bottled stuff in back...to release later. The bottled selection offered at the time was also good-again, I've seen more options, but rarely as GOOD. They refuse to serve the american big boy sewer water stuff. They also have Srpecher root beer on tap and diet in bottles.
Brian let us have tasters of anything on tap (gratis for a beer guy, I'm not sure if Brian will do that for all, but I bet if you're a big beer nut, he might.
He also let me taste the frozen custard they make fro scratch there. They grind madagascar vanilla by hand. When I say taste, it seemed more of a small bowl. It was pure heaven, creamy and rich.
Looks like a good prospect. Not the cheapest beer, but brews of that caliber aren't cheap, anyhow. The food is Hollywood blvd prices, but people seemed to get good sized portions. On the same block as Geisha House (that RIP OFF, TERRIBLE sushi, good sake selection joint)..a few stores east. PArk in the structure behind the GH's locale.
