The bar was a bit scary. The drinks were good but the service was horrendous. Didn't matter. One drink and onto dinner.
Nice dining room. Great bottle of Volpilecela, that I was afraid wouldn't be heavy enough for the lamb but the nice, helpful sommelier confirmed our choice. The wine list may be a bit difficult to navigate if you aren't extremely knowledgeable?
Had a goat cheese and artichoke tart and a smoked duck and fig dish for appetizers. Both wonderful. Wish the duck was cooked just slightly less. Wonderful flavor combinations. Made us very excited for the rest of the meal.
Split a salad next. Nothing remarkable but still pleasing.
Entrees were huge. Too much! But delicious. We had Amish Chicken and Lamb. The lamb was absolutely some of the best I've ever had. Juicy, tender, well balanced seasonings, garbonzo bean puree was tasty. Chicken was also phenominal. Almost never order Chicken when out to a restaurant but this was a special sounding dish and it delivered.
Shared the chocolate souffle cake for dessert. Desserts a bit over the top with the prices here but this dessert was really good. There were three chocolate desserts on the menu and this was definately the right choice.
Nora. Open on a Monday. Open in the snow. Delicious and well worth a return visit.
