Say what you want about the service, the cash-only policy, even the other food at Pomodoro; the red sauce here is downright amazing. It's terrific on their calamari fritti, it's terrific spiced up for the fra diavolo, it's terrific eaten unaccompanied by the spoonful (or the bowlful). In my explorations of Italian restaurants around Boston, I have yet to find any other rendition that even comes close.
So my question is: can anyone else in greater Boston make the capital-R capital-S Red Sauce? High end, low end, near or far, it doesn't matter; I'd love to hear your favorites!
