long awaited City Bakery, Brentwood

Had lunch at the newly opened and long awaited City Bakery; lovely interior and also some tables outside, servicing other eateries in the Mart; food well flavored; a nice variety of salads; a dream for vegetarians; we had the pretzel crumb coated chicken; nicely moist with grainy mustard sauce on the side; egg salad--ordinary but good enough; coconut green beans, crisp, green and sweet with coconut flakes; lightly browned tofu steak with sriracha chile sauce, probably right out of the bottle; a crunchy cabbage and sprouts salad, Asian style; about 10 bucks per person; beautiful hued prickly pear lemonade and a hot Mighty Leaf tea; after eating, purchased 2 cookies to go, one chocolate chip and one melted chocolate chip, just out of the oven, for an extra 5 bucks.....pricey but high quality all around...wait until they get their systems down a bit better before you go.....owner Maury Rubin's famous tarts go for 5.00 each (lemon and chocolate only)......have to go back to try these.....
Address:
