London Trip Report, brief comments on places where we ate.

After a long flight from SF and staying at the Marriott Marble Arch, we wanted something fairly close by and pub type food.

Grazing Goat Public House, 6 New Quebec St. fit the bill perfectly. Walked in at 7:30 and were warmly greeted and seated. Shared the Potted duck & boar, spiced nectarine relish, potato sourdough toast which easily was enough for two. DW had the Half Suffolk chicken, bacon & sage stuffing and I had the Grilled Old Spot pork chop, apple sauce & crackling. Both were excellent and large portions. Also had a side of Tenderstem broccoli, onions & bacon, also very good.
Full but we shared Banana rum cheesecake, caramelized banana, rum raisin ice cream which proved to be as good as it sounds.

A couple of beers finished off a very good meal and a nice start to our trip.

We met up with a retired work colleague and had an excellent day touring by boat, underground and foot!
In the evening we had an absolutely wonderful dinner at:
Moti Mahal, 45 Great Queen St London. Certainly not your average hole in the wall Indian restaurant. Moti Mahal is modern Indian cuisine and it is pricy but totally worth every penny. I won't bore you with all the details but the best way to experience Moti Mahal is the Awadh Tasting Menu.
Guinea fowl, seared scallops, spicy lamb curry, sea bass, black lentils, seasonal veggies and salad fennel paneer, raita, various tandoor breads and much more.
If you go, get the Awadh Tasting Menu, you will thank me later :).

Had theater tickets to see Top Hat our last night in London, looked around the web for something close by before the show.
The Delaunay, 55 Aldwych London was literally across the street and has received good press. Well deserved press as we had an excellent pre theater dinner. Didn't want to be too full so skipped apps. DW had the Wiener Schnitzel and I had the Braised Shoulder of Lamb white beans and paprika sausage
We shared sides of buttery mashed potatoes and wilted spinach. Everything perfectly prepared and flavorful. Apple & Walnut Strudel with vanilla ice cream finished off an excellent meal.
PS: Top Hat was was a great show.
Next stop, Paris!
