Attended a private event dinner for business at Mew of Mayfair. The restaurant is on a mews (British term for a lane, alley or back street) off of Bond Street which has very very high end shops. We were in a private room on the 2nd floor that sat 20-25 people. Very nice room with a private bathroom and a window into the kitchen to watch the action if so desired.
I very much enjoyed the dinner. The flowing champagne and wine certainly helped but the appetizer and main course were both memorable the next day after a late night. The Amberjack Tuna Tartar was excellent with a fruity olive oil and perfectly cut pieces that had a pleasing firm texture. On to the Mews Paddock Farm Honey Glazed Ham which was hand carved at the table. Family style bowls of roasted and fried potato quarters and steamed broccoli were passed around the table and added nicely to the ham. The ham was rich and sweet and a pleasing treat for the holiday season.
