Hi all -
I am a frequent SF poster, and also have a blog (linked below) that focuses on local foods, farmer's markets, etc., mainly in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I am coming to DC next week (Saturday through Wednesday) and would love to see the best that the area has to offer - I am looking specifically for places that work hard to bring local offerings or have a unique twist on organic or sustainable foods. (restuarants, markets, casual, upscale, ethnic, etc)
Above all, however, I am interested in good food. No raw bars or ultra earthy-crunchy places, please.
I am planning on going to the Dupont Circle Farmer's Market on Sunday and am considering Zaytinya due to Jose Andres focus on local products. I will probably skip Nora due to the comments on this board regarding taste.
What other suggestions do you have? We will be staying in Alexandria, spending time in DC, and will have a car. We have more breakfasts and lunches available than dinners, but are up for anything.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
