Loaves and fish in Bay Shore, NY

Had a good lunch here with my brother. I had a fried fish filet on a toasted bun (really good tartar sauce). My brother had a grilled cheese with the fried filet and tartar sauce. These were the kind of fried fish sandwiches you can only get at a little place on the water like this. We started with New England clam chowder (get the bowl it's not that big) and clams oreganata. The clams oreganata were great, whole clams baked with a light topping of breadcrumbs. The chowder was very tasty, not overly thick, and filled with fresh clams.

Afterwards we hit this bakery and got some of their bread of the day. It happened to be sun-dried tomato and olive and I loved it just as the woman behind the counter promised. They also had a nice assortment of homemade jams.

These are the specialty breads and days offered

Tuesday- Burgundy bread with walnuts and onion
Wednesday- Cheddar Dill
Thurday- Olive and Sundried Tomato
Friday- Potato Rosemary bread and Challah
