Live Jazz and good food?

MD | Jul 18, 2004 05:54 PM

So my parents will be here for a week and what i'd like is a nice restaurant that has nice jazz music, maybe a singer as well, for the weekend. Hopefully it's a place not to cramped so that the music won't overpower you. Some idea of price would be extremely helpful as well.

As of now i have heard of two places:

Cleopatra's Needle on the UWS
Brasserie Julien on the UES

If anyone has had an experience with either place i'd love to hear about it. I'm particularly interested in the Brasserie since i'm a fan of french cuisine.
