literati 2 is a hit! (review)

my bf and i had an impromptu date on friday night at literati 2 and from start to finish it was a hit. no problem calling after 5 pm the same eve for a 7:45 reservation. when we got there it was pretty full and the hostess was welcoming and sweet and gave us a table in the quieter side by the bar so we could actually hear each other.

for our apps i ordered the burrata and proscuitto which was good (capo's is the best) but it was a huge dish and my bf had the ample ceasar. for our entrees i ordered the steak frites, my so ordered the cioppino. when the waiter came over to the table with a silver tin and a cracker my bf realized that he was going to have to all the cracking and wasn't into it. the waiter first offered for him to order something else instead but soon after told us that the chef would graciously prepare it and crack everything for him. wow.

our entrees were delicious. we shared the churros with the bittersweet choclate sauce for dessert, one word: amazing. the service (especially the busboys) were very attentive making it a great dining experience. nowadays we should be expecting great service like this but rarely do we find it. no drinks, $72 before tip. it definitely is a neighborhood joint with class.
