Went there on Saturday night. Had a drink at the small bar before we were seated and the bartender looked like he'd rather be somewhere else and made it very obvious to everyone that was there having a drink.
When we were finally seated I thought things would get better and unfortunately it didn't. Overall the food was good, not great, just good. Highlight was my boyfriend's rabbit appetizer with truffle which was divine.
Its not the food I was disappointed with, but the lousy and I mean lousy service. I don't know if it was because we went for the prix fixe and that meant we could be treated like second class citizens, but our waiter gave us the impression he'd rather tend to the more older (read: wealthier) crowd around us. Even when we asked for the check it took ages to arrive and after I gave my credit card he came back and pretty much dropped in on the table and walked away. No thank you, no smile, nothing.
For that amount of money you would think the service would be at least decent. I have to say that was the first time I had left less than the "standard" tip. My boyfriend and I debated on whether or not to have left a tip at all as we were so disappointed, but I felt like we had to leave something, even though I didn't want to.
Which brings me to ask, if you experience bad service, how much would you tip, if at all??
