My sis was in Dearborn, MI recently and brought me some stuff from the local lebanese stores around there.
One thing I really liked were the little lebanese lamb sausages called makanek (I think) these have a distinct aroma and flavor of cloves and other "sweet spices" and also little crunchy pine nuts.
we ate them with a stinky somewhat spicy lebanese goat cheese cheese she also brought back for a little mezze plate.
anybody seen these around here?
