Le Petit Robert Bistro Review of Sunday Brunch (long)

It finally stopped raining on Sunday and I had to get the heck out of my apartment. My GF and I went to Le Petit Robert around noon and were seated immediately. There were a few minor service hiccups (but not the sort of thing to gripe about). We had the trio of pate which is always good and even better smeared on their hot baguettes (it reminded me of those Vietnamese sandwiches, but that's another review). I also started with the coffee and potato cream soup ... it was such an odd item I had to try it. It was okay, but not something I would ever order again. It tasted like a mild and nutty latte with the potato flavor overshadowed by the coffee. I had the BLT and it was the perfect combo of salty bacon, fresh mesculun, sweet tomatoes, creamy mayo and mustard. It was the first time I ever had mustard in a BLT and it did not detract from the BLT. My GF had the salad nicoise and the bowl of greens looked healthy with a few filets of sardines to add some salty goodness. We shared the Chambord souffle for dessert and it came with a hot chocolate sauce. All-in-all a pretty good celebration of the end of nine days of rain.
