I just came from the local Super 88 and found some pastel large pearl tapioca (I also bought some small tapioca pearls). I usually just use these for drinks but I am in the mood for some tapioca pudding. I usually get the instant tapioca (red box) and use the recipe on the box but am wondering if I can use that recipe and substitute the Large pastel pearls with some small ones to make the pudding. I realize I will have to cook the large pearls till done first then the small ones and add to the custard... any suggestions? Has anyone else ever made tapioca pudding this way?
