Hi, DC hounds.
I carefully read the recent messsages in the Takoma Park/SSpring thread, but I didn't find many mentions of upscale kinds of restaurants (except jackies, but the recommendation seemed a little luke). So apologies if this question seems repetitive -- I tried to do my reading before asking.
Here's my question: There's going to be a two-day tech policy conference at the AFI center in Silver Spring, and we're looking for a "nice" restaurant (classy? what's the word?) to take over for an evening. About 80 people, let's say. Is there a place we can walk to, do you think? Or should we take a bus to one of the many great cheap restaurants in Wheaton?
I'm a former DC person, now living in NY (where they are terrible snobs about food). Thanks for any help you can throw my way.
