Hi hounds, hope you can help me. I went to an Afghani restaurant this past weekend (second time there) and had a lamb dish that I'd love to recreate at home. It was called Sabsi Challaw, and basically was just stewed lamb with spinach, served with rice. The lamb was so tender, I didn't need a knife to cut it. The spinach was what I would normally think of as overcooked, but again, it was really good. I've searched online but can't find a recipe for it.
My friend ordered a beef/cauliflower stew (forget the menu name) that had a tomato base--it was also terrific. I don't eat too much beef but would love to try that one as well.
Does anyone have a recipe like this? I considered calling the restaurant but don't think they'd give it to me. My next step will be to write Bon Appetit, but that might take too long, and the dish seems so simple anyway.
Thanks in advance!
