Maybe this belongs on the California board, but I posted it here since I thought L.A. people would know best:
I've only stopped on the L.A.-to-Vegas drive for a real meal once before. That time we ate in Barstow at a supposedly famous Mexican place that was just mediocre (don't remember the name).
Now we're going to do the drive twice more, and I'm curious about tips for stopping on the way.
From a previous thread I gleaned these Barstow suggestions: Idle Spurs (steak); Peggy Sue's (diner); Rosita's (Mexican). Are these still the consensus or does anyone have more recent updates --
Or alternatively, are there better places to eat on the way, that don't happen to be in Barstow? I don't have any particular attachment to Barstow, after all, other than the satisfaction of leading a symmetrical life.
