No more La Vagre (El Viagra)

South park has lost one of its many good little joints. The new place in its spot is calle La Terazza, I think, but I know nothing of the management or the food. I think the old signage on the building still boasts of itself as a "Papuseria" but I have no idea if the new place has Papusas or not. Maybe a local hound will fill in the gaps, here.

Tonight I went down to check out Sheik's BBQ, acknowledging the risk it would be closed, but figuring I Muy Macho, of South Park, to be a good fall-back position, since the road (DesMoines Wy) runs through there on the way.

Good call. Sheik was closed, all right, but the special at Muy Macho was 3 tacos (ordinarily about 5.50) plus rice and beans for $6.99. Three tacos: one carne asada, one al pastor, one pollo asada. I am transported again to Rosa's, a little taco shop in Ysleta TX, near where I worked a while. The corn tortillas, alone, can do this to me. Another favorite joint in Ysleta was a tortilla factory that served lunch. What are the chances South Park will move to Fremont? (now that Fremont no longer has any there there)?
