La Super Rica in Santa Barbara

I finally tried LSR Monday. I arrived at 10:30 and it opens at 11:00. Walked around for awhile and arrived back at 11:05. Walked up to the window and order 2 specials, a Tamale and a Chile Relleno and also a Taco de Rajas. The food comes out of the kitchen at lightning speed. By the time my number was called, there were 6 people in line inside the restaurant and 10 more in line outside. The Tamale and the Relleno were both in a cream based cheese sauce that I ever so carefully added tiny drops of the green and the orange salsa from the salsa bar. Nothing was added to the perfect Rajas served on fresh made tortillas. Fifteen dollars for a very modest amount of food but it was all extraordinary. Luckily I am consulting on a huge construction project about 5 minutes away and will get to have quite a number of lunches here. The Chow Advice here was to order the specials and I was not let down.
