La Perla: Mexican food in South SF

Went there for lunch and was very pleased. Small family owned Mexican restaurant. Cash-only. Street parking. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have specials each day. So Tuesdays, they had a caldo de pollo (chicken soup with vegetables, potatoes, herbs) which was what I got, and chuletas de puerca (pork chops and salsa). On Saturdays they even have menudo(!!!) (tripe soup). On the left menu page they have the standard Mexican burritos/tacos/quesadillas, etc... and on the right page, along with the daily specials, they have seafood versions of dishes and special dinner plates. They provide chips, salsa, butter, and a bowl of chiles when you order, and when your food comes, they also bring a container of freshly made corn tortillas. My coworker suggested putting butter and salsa on the hot (corn) tortillas.

Overall very good food for the price ($5-7 for a typical dish, more expensive for dinner plates or seafood).
