L.A. Hound Needs Help

Jack Flash | Apr 22, 2004 07:26 PM

Hi all,

I've spent some time reading through posts on this board. D.C. area hounds are as passionate about their food as we are in L.A.!

I will be in D.C. this weekend for the first time in about 10 years, and I have a few specific dining needs.

Will be getting into town at dinner time on Fri. night (staying near Lafayette Square), and will need something for dinner that's open late (i.e., where we will be able to walk in at 9:00, wihout a reservation, and not feel rushed nor have to wait an hour to get seated).

I know there are lots of restaurants in the Dupont Circle area. For Friday night, we'll want something either French or Italian, and it would be nice if the two of us could get out for less than $100 including wine, tax & tip.

Saw something about a place called Bistro du Coin. Comments?

Anything closer to our hotel would be good, too.

We'd also like an inexpensive breakfast on Monday morning - again, somewhere close to where we are staying.

Finally, I've seen many positive posts about Firefly, Obelisk and Komi, but have been unable to determine where or what they are (other than popular places).

Thanks in advance for all of your help.
