La Fourchette

Just wanted to share with you a pleasant dining experience at La Fourchette in Adams Morgan. The restaurant has a special three-course menu from 11:30-6:30 (on weekdays only, I presume) for $16.95, a great value. I had warm garlic sausage with potato salad to start, followed by chicken crepes in a mushroom sauce and almond buttercream cake for dessert. My dining partner had house smoked salmon, seafood crepes, and creme caramel. There were several choices for each course. Because they're burned on my brain, I'll list them here.

Other appetizers were potato and leek soup, mussels, mesclun salad and artichoke vinaigrette. Other entrees were rainbow trout, pork loin with mustard sauce, and chicken sausages with mashed potato. There were about ten dessert choices, including clafouti, floating island, tarte tatin, chocolate profiteroles, fresh strawberries, fresh raspberries, sliced oranges in syrup, and chocolate mousse. Considering that most of their a la carte entrees are $20 and over, I thought it was a great deal. Everything was very tasty and the portions were more generous than expected. I'll definitely go back.
