good evening friends. I am on a mission from God. A quest of sorts, to find the best carne asada burrito in Los Angeles. Although I like my share of carnitas, al pastor and machaca I have narrowed down my search to just carne asada. A search not as refined would undoubtedly crown no winner for how can one compare a machaca burrito from Yuca's in Los Feliz to a carne asada burrito from King Taco? both great in their own right but a totally different style.
my first stop was King Taco where I had King Taco's all meat carne asada burrito. It's a soft flour tortilla stuffed with mouth watering carne asada, onions, cilantro and King Tacos famous hot sauce. After the first bite i was transported instantly to burrito heaven. Hallucinations of dancing burritos Oh my i thought, I think my search is over..i think we have a winner! the rest of this conquest is all but a formality! How can anything top this grilled beef and hot sauce taste explosion?
Not so fast. This journey is a marathon not a sprint. King Taco may have seduced my pallette but tommorrow is another day. Tommorrow i will journey to Cactus on Vine St and let the sun shine down on me while i wait for my finely packed burrito of grilled beef, salsa verde, arroz and frijoles.
And then monday I will journey over to a burrito and taco truck in highland park a friend reccomended called La Estrella. I look forward to this because while my friend while telling me of this place got wild eyed and started drooling.
i also have these establishments on my list
Alegria 3510 Sunset
a taco stand at a car wash near magnolia and cahuenga (same friend)
oh my . have I blathered on or what? Lets get down to it. If you would be so kind to post your reccomendations and help me along on my journey to find the best carne asada burrito in Los angeles.
