New to L.A.

Just moved to L.A. from Seattle (not that bad--trust me!), and I'd like to duplicate as much of the food scene I enjoyed there while living here; so far, I've found places like: Cook's Library (spent an afternoon there--lovely people, but my bank account suffered), Joan's on Third (best Cheese Plate I've had), Surfas, Farmer's Market (not like Pike Market, but charming and has some great places), Santa Monica Farmer's Market, La Brea Bakery on Wilshire and La Brea (one of the folks at Cook's Library said there would be a new bakery over by the Beverly Center--any updates?), The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills (just like our James Cook Ltd before he ran out of town with his girlfriend!), and Silverlake Wine (the owner has the best memory ever!).

What I'd like to find are places that can fill out my needs, like a good charcuterie, greengrocer, fishmonger, etc. Little out of the way gems that remind you of Europe, places that you can go shopping every day for the freshest foods to take home and prepare. I live in Mid-Wilshire and work in West Hollywood, but an occasional trip out of the area sounds like fun--I'm getting used to driving everywhere.)

If anyone is headed to Seattle, I'd be happy to share my experiences!
