Recalling some discussion about Tsukasa's new ownership, I took myself down to try the place out last Wednesday at 7:45. The entire shopping center was deserted. The restaurant itself was hot and empty (as in, not one customer), and half the sushi had already been put away. The manager urged me, unconvincingly, to stay. I said I'd come back another time and asked what was a better time for them. He said to come back at around 6.
Does anyone know what's up with this? I had one of the best meals of my life at Tsukasa, but if 7:45 is too late for the new incarnation, I will never get to enjoy such an experience again, or to discover new merits.
Incidentally, after my disappointment, I went over to Sushi Gen after where I was told it would be a 20 minute wait for one at the bar. I ended up at old reliable Hama, which was also lively. So there's no diminution of sushi enthusiasm in the area, anyway.
