My wife and I enjoy good sushi, but feel somewhat limited in Cobble Hill. We sued to order in from Ichiban (before the new name and ownership), but the restaurant lacks severely in the atmosphere department to sit and eat there. Osaka, on the other hand, is a cute space and we love sitting at the sunken tables, but the sushi is not great. Most of the rolls fall apart; they are made almost too big. I have not tried the sushi at Faan, but I was unimpressed with the other food I had there. I wno't even go into the other sushi places on Smith Street because there is never anybody in them, which is not a good sign for sushi. You need a place with turnover to insure fresh sushi.
That brings me to Kotobuki. How is the turnover? How is the sushi? What kind of atmosphere.
As a comparison, we like Japonica, Haru, and Yama in the city (we have yet to try Tomoe or Nobu).
