This large bustling coffeeshop is Kota Bharu's most popular breakfast spot - its walls lined with dozens of Malay celebrities were testament to its reputation as a place to see and be seen when visiting Kota Bharu.
Kopitiam Kita offers packed meal-in-one-packet which seemed popular amongst Kelantanese - and the range we saw there was astounding: from "Nasi Lauk Air Dingin" (rice with fish curry from the town of Air Dingin) which purportedly sells 4,900 packets per day, to various "Nasi Lauk" (literally 'rice with dishes') from Tumpat, Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas, and other towns in Kelantan. One can have a culinary trip around the state of Kelantan in one place!
Besides the rice plates, the coffeeshop also offers an interesting French toast toast with a soft, poached egg, and dollops of kaya (egg) jam.
Another popular food offering there is the selection of grilled chicken and beef satays. But I particularly liked the chicken intestines satay which was soft, juicy and bursting with flavors.
