Korean Vegetarian - Sallim

Just tried a new vegetarian Korean restaruant in K-town. It's called Sallim and it's on Wilshire near Virgil.

First of all, it's an all-you-can-eat buffet which made me a little leary but everything tasted very fresh. A number of items were not identified in English - so I wasn't totally sure what it was. Lunch is $9 and dinner is $11. They also serve breakfast from around 7:30 to 10 am.

There were probably 20 items to choose from that were vegetables, soymeat, or tofu. In addition to that there were 4 kinds of soup and a kimchi table that had about 6 different items. Apparently the selection varies each day. Their menu lists about 40 items. From what I can tell they don't use any fish oil or any animal products of any kind.

It's a great way to taste a number of different things. I most liked the kimchi pancakes and squash pancakes, a vegetable dish that was either aster or bellflower, the lotus flower seed porridge, and a california roll made with potatoes.

The address is:

3020 Wilshire Blvd #119
Los Angeles
