Korean in Monterey - Na Ra

We tried Na Ra for the second time this evening and found it to be very consistently good with extremely attentive and friendly service.

The Seasoned Tofu appetizer is outstanding. They get homemade tofu from a small supplier in salinas and serve it with a spicy sauce.

All meals come with eight side dishes: Kim Chee, Dried and Fried baby anchovies, Fish Cakes, Fried Tofu, Potatoes, Pickled Cucumber, Bean Sprouts, and Spinach as well as rice.

Tonight we had the Beef Dumpling soup which had a generous amount of very good and garlicky beef and spinach filled dumplings with a very delicate wrapper. The broth was a hearty beef stock with egg drop. We had the Bulgogi tonight which was as good as i've had. A generous portion of tender thin slices of grilled marinated beef. In our last visit we had the Kalbi which was also excellent.

Na Ra, 420 Tyler St., Monterey.
